THE BASICS
The First Church of Druwayu will consider potential plans for the establishment of the Druish Academy as a potential after school project and set of programs that are actually not religiously focused of based. Like many, we acknowledge the importance of the separation of Church and State but also the separation of Religion from Public Schools unless it is open to all religions as a collective, impersonal and non-preferential World Cultures course for purely academic reasons rather than indoctrination purposes.
In other words, if parents want to bring their children to some Church specific program and private Church schooling, then that is the right of the parents to do so. However, it is also the right of parents to not have one particular religion dominating all areas of education as a throw back to medieval times and that all public education based schools are held completely independent from either religious or government dictatorships. Freedom of Education and Information is just as important as Freedom of Speech, Press and Religion as well as Peaceful Assembly and non-violent Protest.
TO BE ABUNDANTLY CLEAR
We have no interest or desire to Proselytize children as that is not our goal, and we’re not interested in converting children to Druwayu or anything else. Nor do we deny the freedom of minors to learn about things that may be of interest to them of a religious or non-religious nature. However, such "religious" or "non-religious" education is up to the parents. Not public schools, not government agencies or extensions of them and certainly not the Federal Government. It should be something persons 18+ years of age should be free to determine for themselves being neither forced or coerced into or away from.
THE LOGO DESIGN
Using the basics of the Seal for the First Church of Druwayu, it has the included banners, two candles representing sources of light before the advent of light bulbs and electricity, the symbol of the One and Three and an open book representing learning and education which also represents learning about such things as philosophy, theology, spirituality, whatever it may be, to truly be about actual free inquiry and logic, rationality, the sciences and technologies. It bears the the Founder and the date since the concept is planned to be set into motion pending support.
The Academy is also intended to serve as an After School Club promoting critical thinking, self paced and self directed academic exploration by supporting the interests of the Students and various creative and entertainment based outlets and hands on learning in diverse professions such as but not limited to sciences and technologies.
While it will also be set up so students who attend can use the free time to work on their academic developments, it will also include information on understanding the fallacies and dangers of imposed beliefs and imposed claims based on presentisim as false historic revisionism and why it matters. What will not be taught to students is Druwayu itself as that is left up to parents as part of our honor code.
This will also include encouraging students striving to improve upon where public education has failed students across the board and adapting the fundamentals of charter schools for the sake of the students as the priority. Remote learning will be part of this plan.
